About Basement Wine

How We Got Here

A man from Cicero, would never order wine anytime he was out or even would've thought to have a wine glass in his hand.  This man happens to be at a homemade wine party with a former U.S. Marshall and enjoys the wine so much that he says he wants to be involved.  A year later the man's basement is being used to make a small amount of wine.  The man's son is back to visit from college and enjoys free alcohol so he comes into the basement to try the wine.  He doesn't drink wine, but enjoys this wine.  He doesn't pass up free alcohol and takes some back with college, oddly enough people that don't drink wine enjoy it.  A year later they purchase as much wine as they fit in their basement, use a 15 year old Chevy suburban to transport it into a basement.  They made their first batch 2012.  In the 15 years the US Marshall has spent making wine, he continue to say, there is something special about the way that basement makes wine.
